Accountant II - Capital Assets Management

Provides advanced accounting support for capital assets, preparing financial statements and reports. Applies GAAP principles to ensure accuracy and timeliness of asset records and capitalization. Collaborates with departments to analyze purchases, assign correct account coding, and determine capitalization thresholds. Manages cost transfers, journal entries, purchase orders, and approvals in the purchasing software; performs monthly asset reconciliations and close of capital asset accounts. Assists with annual financial reporting, year-end closing, and data entry of assets into the financial database. Supports asset tagging questions and produces a variety of financial reports as needed.
