Healthcare Clinical Documentation Specialist - Senior Consultant

Job overview

As a Senior Consultant in Regulatory, Risk & Forensic Healthcare, you will lead clinical documentation improvement initiatives to optimize accuracy and regulatory compliance across inpatient and outpatient settings. You will leverage knowledge of MS-DRG, APR-DRG, PSIs, HACs, POA, and risk adjustment to drive appropriate reimbursement and quality outcomes. You will collaborate with clinicians, physicians, nurses, case management, quality, finance, and revenue cycle teams to identify gaps and implement action plans. You will analyze medical records, monitor coding trends, and develop education programs for physicians, CDI teams, and ancillary staff. You will prepare reports and dashboards, present findings to executives, and support regulatory response and investigations as needed. You will stay current with coding standards, regulatory changes, and health IT advances, and travel as required.
