Cyber Security Analyst

Under general direction, the incumbent protects the school district's technology systems, networks, and data from unauthorized access and malicious threats. Actively monitors security incidents using SIEM, endpoint protection, firewalls, and other tools, and responds to breaches with documented root cause analysis. Assists in managing security controls, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and access controls; performs regular vulnerability scans and risk assessments. Supports the development and implementation of cybersecurity strategy, disaster recovery, and backup methodologies while promoting security best practices district-wide. Develops and delivers security awareness training for faculty, staff, and students; communicates security policies and incident handling procedures. Collaborates with IT staff and external vendors to maintain a secure, compliant, and efficient technology environment and performs other duties as assigned.
